How to plan a week of dinners

  1. Start with your busiest nights and give them a quick recipe under 30 minutes.
  2. Pick one bigger cook, like slow cooker pot roast or baked ziti, that leaves leftovers for another night.
  3. Mark one night as leftovers or eating out.
  4. Check the shopping list against your fridge and pantry, then tick off what you already have.

Tips that save time and money

  • Choose recipes that share ingredients, like chicken thighs and chicken noodle soup, so nothing goes to waste.
  • Shop once for the week and prep vegetables the same day.
  • Keep a few freezer meals, such as soup or taco meat, for nights when plans change.

Frequently asked questions

How does the shopping list work?

When you pick a recipe for a day, its ingredients are added to the list. The same ingredient in the same unit across different recipes is added together, so you see one line instead of three.

Is my meal plan saved?

Yes, in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data will clear the plan.

Can I print the list?

Yes. Press Print to print the page, or take a screenshot of the shopping list on your phone.

Why are some items listed without an amount?

Items like salt, pepper or toppings are listed to taste in the recipes, so they appear once without an amount, with a note if more than one recipe uses them.
